Our History
Caring Hearts Animal Hospital’s journey began in January 2004 with a doctor and a mission, and we’ve been proudly caring for pets in the Matthews area ever since. That doctor was Dr. Lorie White, and her mission was to provide state-of-the-art veterinary care and exceptional client service—all with a keen focus on patient comfort. To do this, she assembled a team of highly qualified, caring professionals who shared her passion, making Caring Hearts the patient-centered practice it is today. Whether it’s a comprehensive wellness exam, dental procedure, or laboratory test, we provide our services in whatever manner is best for our patients.
About Our Facility
Our AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Matthews, NC is fully equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern equipment. It also includes spacious exam rooms, a surgical suite, an in-house diagnostic laboratory, and a well-stocked retail area. With comfort as one of our primary goals, we work hard to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere within our hospital, including:
- Comfortable, soft yoga mats on exam tables to provide better footing
- Use of pheromones to reduce anxiety
- Soft, warm colors on walls and floors
- Separate exam room for cats
- Special training of our entire team in low-stress handling techniques
Community Involvement
Along with our passion for treating pets at our hospital, we feel strongly about giving back to the community in every way we can. We sponsor an annual dog wash and donate the proceeds to a local humane society. We also donate to the local police department’s anti-drug, anti-bullying, and anti-scandal education programs. In the past, we’ve also offered free spaying and neutering to a feral colony of cats that were living in the shopping center where our hospital is located.
